The Hai Zhou No. 1 intelligent wind-powered unmanned vessel features a complementary wind-and-electricity propulsion system. By synergistically harnessing power from a sail-based aerodynamic propulsion device and flexible photovoltaic arrays, it can achieve rapid, autonomous long-distance cruising over thousands of nautical miles. This platform incorporates an anti-rolling stability design, enabling it to carry out heavy-load observation and detection missions even under severe sea conditions. The vessel is equipped with a multi-source sensor array that can continuously sample oceanic acoustic, optical, electrical, and magnetic parameters at millisecond-level resolution. Relying on a multi-source power supply system and an intelligent power management strategy, the Hai Zhou No. 1 can dynamically allocate mixed outputs of kinetic and electrical energy to meet the power demands of various heterogeneous payloads. Data assimilation processing is performed via an embedded edge computing unit, and the processed data are then transmitted back to a shore-based center, thereby satisfying users’ multidimensional needs.
